Pokémon Let's Go Pallet Town - getting the Package for Professor Oak and your first Pokémon

Tutti i Pokémon, gli oggetti e i segreti dalla Grotta Diglett fino ad ottenere il Poké Flauto.

Pallet Town and getting the Package for Professor Oak are the first town and tasks you'll encounter in Let's Go respectively, following straight on from the game's initial opening cutscene aand beginning your quest through Pokémon Let's Go's main story. A first welcome is in order then!

Below, we'll cover any and all of the obtainable Pokémon, item locations, trainers and their squads that you might encounter in the area, as well as walking you through any key steps of the story along the way.

We've also opted to break out walkthrough pages down into sections, referring to each of your visits to a given location, seeing as you often backtrack or revisit various places in your quest to become Champion! Where applicable, we'll split our page into one section for each visit, and of course if there are any, clearly mark any spoilers, too!

For more like this, be it specific systems explainers or walkthrough pages on more locations, head back to our main Pokémon Let's Go walkthrough and guide hub.

Pokémon Let's Go: Pallet Town and your first Pokémon

After the game's charming opening cutscene, it's time to dive into the world of Kanto itself!

You'll wake up in your room. Have a little explore, and check the PC for a quick rundown of some basic controls, and then head outside. Talk to everyone you meet along the way - both for some added flavour of the world itself, and more importantly for pointers in the right direction for what to do next.

Your first task is to find Professor Oak, who's not in his lab - the big building in town - so head north towards Route 1.

You'll see him soon enough, and after another cutscene it's already time to catch your first Pokémon!

Available Pokémon

Pikachu (LGP) / Eevee (LGE) Caught after finding Professor Oak

Depending on your version, you'll either encounter and catch a Pikachu or an Eevee, in Let's Go Pikachu or Let's Go Eevee respectively, of course.

Once you've caught your feisty little partner, go to the lab and talk with Professor Oak to receive your Pokédex - filling this out with all the Pokémon in the region of Kanto is your main objective, alongside eventually conquering the Pokémon League! - and from now on Oak will appraise your progress whenever you speak to him back at the lab.

You'll also talk to your Mum, after catching your first Pokémon, and receive the Town Map from her, which can be accessed in your bag at any time to check whereabouts you are in the world. Remember to check that if you ever get lost!

With that, you're all done here in your home of Pallet Town. Onwards to the north, and Route 1, the first Route of your big adventure!

Pokémon Let's Go: getting the Package for Professor Oak

After you've reached Viridian City and noticed your path onwards is blocked, you'll have picked up a Package for Professor Oak from the Poké Mart Clerk in town there.

Return here to Pallet Town and give it to Professor Oak in his Lab, and he'll give you a handful of Razz Berries - useful items for catching Pokémon effectively - as a thank you.

You'll also be treated to your first ever Pokémon Battle, too, with your friendly Rival! They'll come prepared with the counterpart to whatever Pokémon you originally started the game with - so if you're playing Let's Go Eevee, they'll have a Pikachu, and if you're playing Let's Go Pikachu they'll have an Eevee.

That's a theme that'll run throughout your many encouters with them throughout the game, too - they'll always have the opposite starter to you, and similarly other Pokémon only available in the other version of Let's Go, too. For now though, it's just a simple one-on-one!

Defeat them - simple enough if you just stick to basic damage-dealing moves! - and you'll now be able to play with your partner Pokémon, via the pause menu. Your rival's sister will also hand you your first new outfit, the Sportswear Set, as you leave town to the north once more. Feel free to kit out you and your partner Pokémon however you wish!

That's everything here for now, so continue on back up to Viridian City for the next steps in your quest, or cycle back to our main Pokémon Let's Go walkthrough and guide hub for all the other pages we have like this.
